Even if you have never travelled to New Zealand you will have heard of this wonderful place called Queenstown.

Deep in the South Island, Queenstown is situated in the Wakatipu basin, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown has everything you need to enjoy life.

Queenstown Has Everything You Need To Enjoy Life

As well as being the centre of ski and snowboarding in the South Island, Queenstown is also the home of Bungy Jumping, and famous jet boat rides, there are golf courses, mountain bike tracks and climbing, to mention but a few of the endless activities that are available apart from skiing and riding.

We will even show you around the Frisbee Golf Course!!!

The centre of Queenstown is a hive of activity. There are Restaurants from all around the world, with prices varying from the more extravagant to what seems to be quite cheap.

Night Life In Queenstown Is Buzzing

Then of course there is the infamous Queenstown NightLife, with Bars, Pubs and Clubs to suit all tastes.

During the course of the winter there are many different special events that happen in Queenstown.

The Winter Festival is one of the opening highlights of the winter season with a weeks worth of Live bands, street parties and a whole host of crazy activities which have got to be seen to be believed. Then there are big air comps, rail jams, the Winter Games and the Spring Carnival.

New Zealand Mountains

On either side of the Wakatipu basin stand two mountains, both provide excellent skiing and riding, and both have very differing characteristics.

Coronet Peak
"The Peak" as it is known, will be the heart of SITCo's activities. It boasts some of the best riding in the southern hemisphere.
With all high speed chairlifts, a 6 seater and 2 x 4 seater, a t-bar, 3 x magic carpets, it means that there is a fast turn around with terrain for all levels.
The snowmaking system in place, is one of the most advanced in the world, and it ensures the Coronet always has good snow coverage.
Coronet Peak is a short 20-minute (18km) drive along a fully sealed road from Queenstown.
Easy access and great skiing and riding.

The Remarkables
"The Remarks" is just on the other side of the valley and has some of the best park and off piste terrain in the area. With runs like Homeward Bound and Alta Chutes, it is hard to beat The Remarkables on a good powder day.
The Remarkables has also built up an excellent park with tabletops, spines and rails where some of the best slopestyle comps are held.
The Remarkables is a 45-minute drive from Queenstown.

Both of these ski areas are run by NZski.
