All applicants for this program will need to have a good level od snowboarding experience before you arrive.
All applicants will need to have the right to work in New Zealand.

To be accepted to Work at the Snowsports School you will be required to enter into the employment process with NZSki including filling in application forms and a job interview. We will guide you through this process.
It is a fully paid job!
Therefore you will need to apply for the SITCo L1 + L2 Internship and then take part in a full employment interview.
There are exclusive work places for those on the SITCo L1 + L2 Internship.
Successful applicants will be fully employed members of the Ski and Snowboard School, and you will get paid at the rate organised by the employer at the time of taking you on.
It is very hard to say exactly how much you will be paid as each instructor gets paid individually based on an hourly rate, and based on the type of work they are doing.
When you are an employee full terms and conditions of your employment will be in force.

First thing you need to do is to make an Online Application from the SITCo website.

Once you have submitted an application a member of the SITCo team will be in touch and we will ask for evidence of previous qualifications, and your work visa.
Your application will then be passed on to the HR department of Coronet Peak Snowsports School. If you pass through the first phases of the HP process you will then be required to complete and take a job interview.
The successful candidates will then be chosen.

The L1 + L2 Internship Program Includes -

Not many people get the opportunity to train and work in the best ski resorts in the Southern Hemisphere; this is a unique opportunity to train with some of the world's best ski trainers and then work alongside them.
The program will begin before Coronet Peak and The Remarkables open with a Queenstown orientation and getting you set up with all the necessaries such as bank accounts and Tax numbers. Once the ski lifts are open, on snow training will commence with the focus on training for the NZSIA level 1 exam, once this is achieved you will work for NZSKI at either Coronet Peak or the Remarkables.
You must pass the SBINZ Level 1 in order to take up the work placement. Three weeks of work will get you up and running as a qualified instructor and give you the chance to earn some money before getting back into training for the level 2 exam.
